Mike Snowden is entering his third year as head strength coach for the University of Alabamas mens basketball team and his fifth season working under head coach Nate Oats (spent 2017-19 at Buffalo). Over the four-year stretch, Oats teams have claimed three conference regular-season and tournament championships, made three NCAA Tournament appearances and reached the 2021 Sweet 16. A big part for the success, according to the Tides head coach, has been Snowdens leadership in the weight room. A military veteran who served on President Barack Obamas Helicopter Squadron staff, Snowden earned his bachelors degree in kinesiology from George Mason in 2015 and masters in sport leadership from VCU in 2016.
