Educator of the Year

The Educator of the Year Award is presented to an educator who has made noteworthy contributions to education and clinical application of strength training and conditioning.

Congratulations to the 2022 Winner!

David H. Fukuda, PhD, CSCS,*D, FNSCA

David H. Fukuda, Ph.D. is the Division Chair and an Associate Professor in the Division of Kinesiology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He has proudly taught and mentored a large group of talented B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. students, including two university-level Outstanding Dissertation Award winners, over the course of his career, many of whom are actively involved with the NSCA. His recent academic leadership efforts at UCF resulted in a new Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code identifying the Kinesiology programs as part of the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines by the state of Florida, and state-level approval of the standalone Kinesiology Ph.D. program housed within the College of Health Profession and Sciences. Dr. Fukuda has been a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist since 2008, a Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research since 2017, and received NSCA Fellow status in 2021.
