The Tactical Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year Award is awarded to the coach, researcher, tactical professional, educator, or administrator whose influential contributions to the field measurably result in its advancement in a way that exceeds the outcomes achieved by others.
Associate Professor Rob Orr served in the Australian Army for more than 23 years as an infantry soldier, Physical Training Instructor, uniformed physiotherapist, and human performance officer. Still serving in the Army Reserve, Dr. Orr is the Director of the Tactical Research Unit at Bond University, teaches students undertaking their Doctor of Physiotherapy Program, and supervises masters and doctoral students doing research in tactical populations. Dr. Orr consults and provides research and educational services for law enforcement, military, and firefighter agencies across five continents. His interests range from initial training to the selection and training of specialist personnel, with a particular passion for tactical load carriage. Dr. Orr’s focus on providing pragmatic research to the tactical community is evident in his 200-plus published research papers and technical reports on tactical populations.
